Transcript of remarks by S for S after FCC meeting
**************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks made by the Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, at a media session at Central Government Offices, Tamar, after the Fight Crime Committee meeting this afternoon (May 29):

Reporter: How would the bureau follow up on Leung Kwok-hung's denial of entry into Malaysia? Will the Government provide any assistance to him? Would the Immigration Department step up inspections at border check points following yesterday's suspected case of Middle East Respiratory Syndrome?

Secretary for Security: I think you have asked two different questions. The second one is the one that I answered just now in Cantonese. Am I correct? For the first question, we respect and we do not intervene in decisions made by immigration authorities in accordance with their law. According to the online news, there was a lawyer assisting Mr Leung at Kuala Lumpur Airport. For your second question, officers at the immigration checkpoints will provide all necessary assistance to the relevant government department responsible for quarantine measures. If there are any further measures that have to be introduced at immigration check points, all Immigration Officers and other relevant disciplined services at the checkpoints will provide full assistance to them.
