The Hospital Authority (HA) today (May 29) published the biannual issue of Medication Safety Bulletin (MSB), which is one of the Authority's regular publications to promote risk management among health-care professionals in public hospitals.
The latest issue announces the upcoming update in the "HA Do Not Use List in Prescribing" inhibiting the use of non-standard abbreviations in written prescriptions, which can result in undue misinterpretation of prescription orders.
Hospital good practices in drug handling and storage observed in recent hospital visits by the Medication Safety Committee members are also featured for sharing in this issue.
The publication has already been posted online for sharing with health-care professionals. Members of the public are also welcome to browse it at the following link: www.ha.org.hk/msb .
MSB is published every six months, on the last Fridays of May and November. The next issue will be published on November 27.
