Draft Lung Yeuk Tau and Kwan Tei South Outline Zoning Plan amended
***********************************************************

The Town Planning Board (the Board) today (May 29) announced amendments to the draft Lung Yeuk Tau and Kwan Tei South Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).

The amendments mainly involve the rezoning of the major portion of the ex-Burma Lines Military site (now known as Queen's Hill site) and two small land parcels to its immediate north and west from "Government, Institution or Community (2)", "Agriculture" and "Residential (Group C)" ("R(C)") to "Residential (Group A)", "Residential (Group B)", "Government, Institution or Community" ("G/IC") and "Open Space" to facilitate public housing, private housing, international school and public open space developments. A site near the junction of Sha Tau Kok Road and Lung Ma Road is also rezoned from "R(C)" to "G/IC" for the provision of Government, institution or community facilities to support the Queen's Hill development and the wider district. Opportunity is also taken to amend the Notes and Explanatory Statement of the OZP to reflect the above amendments and to update the general information of various land use zonings.

The draft Lung Yeuk Tau and Kwan Tei South OZP No. S/NE-LYT/16, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board; the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin; the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office; the North District Office and the Fanling District Rural Committee.

Any person may make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before July 29. Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.

Copies of the draft Lung Yeuk Tau and Kwan Tei South OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb/).
