United Nations Sanctions (South Sudan) Regulation gazetted

     The Government today (May 29) gazetted the United Nations Sanctions (South Sudan) Regulation, which came into operation today.

     "The Regulation implements sanctions against South Sudan imposed by the United Nations Security Council under Resolution 2206," a Government spokesman said.

     The sanctions under the Regulation include:

* prohibition against making available to certain persons or entities any funds or other financial assets or economic resources, or dealing with funds or other financial assets or economic resources of certain persons or entities; and

* prohibition against entry into or transit through the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region by certain persons.
