Correctional Services officers stopped three persons in custody assaulting another person in custody in Hei Ling Chau Addiction Treatment Centre today (May 28).
At 1.26pm, officers on duty saw a 36-year-old male person in custody being attacked by three other male persons in custody, aged between 29 and 33, inside a dining hall. The officers immediately stopped the assault.
The victim sustained injuries at his face and back. After consultation by a medical officer at the centre hospital, he was transferred to a public hospital for further examination and treatment. Two of the assailants sustained minor injuries and were treated at the centre hospital.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The three assailants were sentenced to imprisonment for the offences of common assault, possession of dangerous drugs and theft respectively, while the victim was sentenced to imprisonment for the offence of possession of dangerous drugs.
