Fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City last night (May 23) in which a 59-year-old woman was killed.
 
     At about 10.55pm, a tow truck driven by the 59-year-old woman stopped at a layby near Pui Ching Road on Fat Kwong Street downslope towards Mong Kok. When the driver got off and hooked a taxi which broke down at scene onto her truck, the two vehicles reportedly skidded forward and the driver was trapped underneath the tow truck while she was trying to stop the vehicles.

     Sustaining serious leg injury, the driver was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 11.35pm.
 
     Active investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
