***********************************************************

Korean media company Intelbridge Media & Press Corp Limited (IMP) announced today (May 18) that its first overseas office will be opened in Hong Kong on Wednesday (May 20) as a base to promote Korean culture and style globally.

The Hong Kong office will not only publish and distribute KWave magazine, which is an entertainment lifestyle magazine, to Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, but also be responsible for expanding the company's business in entertainment and event management globally. It will also work with different celebrities and work with the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency to introduce new Korean brands into the Hong Kong market.

The CEO of IMP, Ms Christine Kim, said, "Hong Kong is a very fashionable place and people in the city showed high interest in the Korean culture. In order to make good use of the well-developed Korean culture environment in the city and its international status, we decided to set up here as our stepping stone to promote Korean culture and style globally."

She added, "Hong Kong is strategically located at the heart of Asia and a doorstep to Mainland China. The Hong Kong office will play a very important role as it will be a gateway for us to get into Asian markets, especially the Mainland."

Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Mr Jimmy Chiang said, "Hong Kong people love Korean culture a lot, from fashions to pop songs and TV dramas and more. The fact that Hong Kong has a large number of visitors every year adds another appeal for IMP to use Hong Kong as an international anchor to promote Korean cultures globally."
