The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
Three Legislative Council (LegCo) Members conducted a site visit to Po Lam Station on the Tseung Kwan O Line of the MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL) this morning (May 11) to follow up on the request for provision of an additional access point in the station.
Members first visited the concourse and the only access point on the ground floor (i.e. Exit C linking to Mau Yip Road) of Po Lam Station to better understand the passenger flow of the station during morning peak hours. They then observed the paving and barrier-free access ramp outside the station to learn about the difficulties experienced by passengers with limited mobility.
After the site visit, a meeting between Members and representatives of the Government and MTRCL was held to follow up on the case.
Members participating in the site visit included LegCo Redress System Duty Roster Member Mr Tang Ka-piu (Convenor), as well as invited Members Ms Emily Lau and Dr Fernando Cheung.
