Police appeal for information on fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok

     Police today (May 11) appealed to the public on a fatal traffic accident in Mong Kok on May 3 in which a 64-year-old man died.
 
      About 6.14am on that day, a light goods vehicle driven by a 36-year-old man was travelling along the southeast bound of Belford Road. When reaching the junction of Belford Road and Maple Street, it reportedly knocked down the 64-year-old man who was crossing the road.
 
     Sustaining head and chest injuries, the pedestrian was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in conscious state. He was certified dead at 6.51pm on May 5.

     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in mid-May.
 
     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, are underway.
