The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the Secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, Mr Ma Xingrui, at Government House this afternoon (May 8) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung welcomed Mr Ma on his visit and said that Hong Kong and Shenzhen have been working closely in various areas. He also expressed his gratitude for Shenzhen's support for the collaboration between the two places in respect of economic and trade issues, youth co-operation and facilitating immigration clearance.
Mr Leung said that the comprehensive deepening of the country's reform would bring about more opportunities for co-operation between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and expressed the hope that the two sides would continue to strengthen co-operation in various areas for mutual benefit.
