The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Governor of Sichuan Province, Mr Wei Hong, at Government House this evening (May 7) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung said that the country is pressing ahead with the "One Belt, One Road" initiative. He added that Sichuan enjoys a strategic location and is also an important transport hub which could provide huge development potential and opportunities to the co-operation between Hong Kong and Sichuan.
He also pointed out that Hong Kong, as an international financial and trade centre, could act as a "super-connector" and complement Sichuan's "attracting investment" and "going global" strategies.
