The Government announced today (May 7) that Mr Daniel Chung Kum-wah, Director of Drainage Services, will assume the post of Director of Civil Engineering and Development on May 11, 2015.
Commenting on the appointment of Mr Chung, the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Paul Tang, said, "Mr Chung has proven leadership, administrative skills, profound professional knowledge and extensive experience. I have every confidence that he will be able to lead the Civil Engineering and Development Department to meet the challenges ahead and continue to deliver quality service to the community."

Now aged 56, Mr Chung joined the Government as an Assistant Engineer in August 1985. He was promoted to Chief Engineer in September 2001, to Government Engineer in August 2009 and to Principal Government Engineer in July 2012. He has been the Director of Drainage Services since February 2014.
