LegCo Members meet with Sham Shui Po and Wan Chai District Council members (with photos)

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     Members of the Legislative Council (LegCo) held meetings today (April 30) with members of the Sham Shui Po District Council (DC) and the Wan Chai DC respectively in Conference Room 1 and Conference Room 2B of the LegCo Complex to discuss and exchange views on matters of mutual concern.

     During the meeting with the Sham Shui Po DC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on the following issues: request for relocation of the Cheung Sha Wan Temporary Wholesale Poultry Market; problems caused by feral birds; relocation of Shek Kip Mei Health Centre; and road safety and noise problems of Ching Cheung Road (near Ching Lai Court/Nob Hill), and road safety problem at the junction of Mei Lai Road and Cheung Sha Wan Road. The meeting was convened by Mr Wu Chi-wai and attended by Mr Frederick Fung, Mr Jeffrey Lam, Mr Wong Ting-kwong, Ms Starry Lee, Dr Priscilla Leung, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Wong Yuk-man, Ms Claudia Mo, Mr Yiu Si-wing, Ms Chan Yuen-han, Dr Fernando Cheung, Dr Helena Wong, Dr Chiang Lai-wan and Dr Lo Wai-kwok.

     As for the meeting with the Wan Chai DC, LegCo Members discussed and exchanged views with DC members on the following issues: request to improve the signboard control system; regulating light pollution by legislation; management of roadside skips; and considering introducing legislation to regulate the feeding of wild doves in urban areas. The meeting was convened by Mr Ng Leung-sing and attended by Mr Tommy Cheung, Mr Wong Kwok-hing, Ms Starry Lee, Mr Ip Kwok-him, Mr Paul Tse, Dr Kenneth Chan, Ms Chan Yuen-han, Mr Kwok Wai-keung, Mr Sin Chung-kai, Dr Lo Wai-kwok and Mr Christopher Chung.
