SCED visits Hong Kong Gifts and Premium Fair

     The Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, today (April 30) visited the 30th Hong Kong Gifts and Premium Fair organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

     Mr So toured the "World of Gift Ideas" and "Hall of Fine Designs" exhibition zones as well as the "Small Order Zone", which showcases products with creative and trendy designs and high-quality products from Hong Kong brands. He was updated by industry players on the latest developments in the gifts industry. He also learned from exhibitors about their sales situation and the new trend of product design.

     Mr So said, "The exhibition industry has been making an immense contribution to Hong Kong's economy by promoting trade and helping Hong Kong enterprises, including small and medium enterprises, to develop new markets. It facilitates the development of the products and services industries and attracts overnight business travellers to Hong Kong."

     The world's largest fair of its kind, the four-day Hong Kong Gifts and Premium Fair is being held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from April 27. The fair has attracted a record high number of over 4 200 exhibitors from 38 countries and regions, with exhibitors from Bangladesh, Brazil, Czech Republic, Egypt, Israel and Portugal joining for the first time.
