Fatal traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan (with photo)

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Cheung Sha Wan this morning (April 23) in which a woman was killed.
 
     About 10.28am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 36-year-old man was traveling along Castle Peak Road towards Shum Shui Po. When reaching Tonkin Street, it reportedly knocked down the woman who was crossing the road.
 
     Sustaining injuries to her back and legs, the woman was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 11.23am.
 
     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for further enquiries.
 
     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
 
     Aged about 70 to 80, the woman was about 1.63 metres tall and of medium built. She had a round face, short grey hair with yellow complexion. She was wearing a purple jacket, black trousers and brown plastic slippers. No identity document was found in her possession.
