The Hospital Authority (HA) Board discussed and endorsed at the Administrative and Operational Meeting today (April 23) the higher retirement age of 65 for HA new recruits with employment commencement dates on or after June 1, 2015.
The HA spokesman said that the arrangement is adopted, following government policy, to address longer term manpower issues due to an ageing population and a shrinking labour force.
"The arrangement will apply to all ranks of HA new recruits whose employment commencement dates are on or after June 1, 2015," the spokesman said, adding that the HA recruitment webpage will be updated with a note on the new retirement age for the information of job applicants.
