The Secretary for Food and Health, Dr Ko Wing-man, today (April 17) expressed his profound sadness at the passing of Mr Andy Lau Kwok-fai, member of the Hospital Authority Board (HA), and extended deep condolences to his family.
Mr Lau was also Chairman of the Alliance for Renal Patients Mutual Help Association, and member of the Health and Medical Development Advisory Committee and the Steering Committee on eHealth Record Sharing of the Food and Health Bureau.
Dr Ko said that Mr Lau had made a wholehearted commitment to the development of the HA and public medical services, and was active in promoting patients' rights over the years.
"He was a person of great insight and made a great contribution to advancing our medical framework. His passing is a great loss to the public medical sector," Dr Ko said.
