Approved Sha Tin Outline Zoning Plan amended

     The Town Planning Board (the Board) today (April 17) announced amendments to the approved Sha Tin Outline Zoning Plan (OZP).  

     The amendments mainly involve the rezoning of a site at Au Pui Wan Street near Fo Tan Station from "Industrial" ("I") to "Residential (Group A)5"; the rezoning of a site at Shan Mei Street from "I" to "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Petrol Filling Station"; the rezoning of three sites, including a site at Lai Ping Road from "Green Belt" ("GB") to "Residential (Group B)2" ("R(B)2"), a site north of To Shek Reservoir from "GB" to "R(B)2" and a site near Tai Po Road - Sha Tin Heights section from "GB" to "R(B)3"; inclusion of "Art Studio (excluding those involving direct provision of services or goods)" as a Column 1 use under the "I" zone and under Schedule II of the "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Business" ("OU(B)") and "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Business(1)" ("OU(B)1") zones, and corresponding amendment to the "Place of Recreation, Sports or Culture" use of the zones; and inclusion of "People Mover (Escalators/Lifts)" as a Column 1 use of the "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Amenity Area" ("OU(A)") zone.

     The draft Sha Tin OZP No. S/ST/31, incorporating the amendments, is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Board; the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin; the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office; the Sha Tin District Office and the Sha Tin Rural Committee.  

     Any person can make written representation in respect of the amendments to the Secretary of the Board on or before June 17. Representations made to the Board will be available for public inspection.  

     Copies of the draft Sha Tin OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
