Marine Police Exhibition to celebrate Force 170th Anniversary (with photos)
**************************************************

To celebrate the 170th Anniversary of Hong Kong Police Force, Marine Region is staging an exhibition from tomorrow (April 17) at Cheung Chau with the theme "Serving with Professionalism, past, present and future" to showcase its commitment and service to the community.

New and old uniforms, equipment, videos and photos etc. will be displayed at Cheung Chau Police Station during the exhibition to enhance public understanding on the work of Marine Police. Officers in old Marine Police uniforms will perform in parades at 11.30am and 3pm. A variety of police launches will also be displayed at Cheung Chau Public Pier, in which one of them will open to public.

The exhibition will be launched tomorrow, during which a ceremonial boat hook drill will be performed. It is a traditional navy ceremony for special occasions, such as when conveying a senior police officer to officiate a new police launch commissioning ceremony.

The exhibition will be held at Cheung Chau Police Station and Cheung Chau Public Pier from 2pm to 4pm tomorrow, and from 11am to 4pm on April 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26. Admission is free.

In addition, a treasure hunt activity is designed by local organisations for the public to enhance understanding of Cheung Chau culture. A map can be collected at the Police Station. By successfully checking all the eight checkpoints set at the landmarks of Cheung Chau, visitors will be given a small souvenir at Cheung Chau Rural Committee.
