Dance and multimedia combine in three crossover performances
************************************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present the Dance x Multimedia series, comprising programmes that cross from dance to multimedia with productions from Australia, the UK and the USA.

"Encoded" by Stalker Theatre Company (Australia) is a visually stunning work that creates a ravishing immersive world of shimmering images that dissolve and re-form as the performers sweep across the space. It is an aerial dance performance that uses the latest interactive technologies to build a projected digital environment that responds to the movements of the performers. The show will be staged at 8pm on June 5 and 6 (Friday and Saturday) at the Auditorium, Kwai Tsing Theatre. Tickets are priced from $130 to $280.

"Refugees of the Septic Heart" by Tom Dale Company (UK), with beautiful movement throughout the performance, explores the development of human consciousness and life, from a primordial beginning to a high-finance present, marking some collective hopes and fears along the way. Instincts of control and organisation evolve into absurdity, parody and humour before erupting into the essential dance of life and the elements. The production is inspired by a world in flux and at a tipping point, a society perched on the brink of change. The show will be staged at 8pm on June 19 and 20 (Friday and Saturday), and 3pm on June 21 (Sunday), at the Theatre of  Hong Kong City Hall. Tickets are priced at $200 and $280.

"Artist of Light" by iLuminate (USA) is the first full-length production by iLuminate (USA) after it won the second runner-up prize in America's Got Talent 2011. The performance begins with a powerful paintbrush that can breathe inspiration into reality. In the leading character, Jacob's artistic brilliance truly comes alive. iLuminate aims to create a visual display unlike anything you have ever seen, with dancers in electric glow-in-the-dark suits  performing choreographed dances and illusions on a darkened stage. The show will be staged at 8pm on August 21 and 22 (Friday and Saturday), and at 3pm on August 23 (Sunday), at the Auditorium of Kwai Tsing Theatre. Tickets are priced from $150 to $350.
