LD holds occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Health Hazards of Hot Environment at Work" on April 23. This talk is designed for workers working in a hot environment to ensure their working environment is safe and healthy. The potential health risks associated with working in a hot environment and preventive measures against heatstroke will be discussed.

     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in the Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. The LD's Occupational Hygienist and Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Work and Common Gastrointestinal Diseases" on April 30. The talk will briefly introduce some common gastrointestinal diseases, their causes, symptoms and treatments. In addition, it will highlight the mutual influence of work and common gastrointestinal diseases, and preventive measures to promote employees' occupational health.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library. The LD's Occupational Health Nurse will give the talk.

     The above talks will be conducted in Cantonese. Admission is free.
