LegCo to resume Second Reading debate on Appropriation Bill 2015

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     The Legislative Council (LegCo) will hold a meeting on Wednesday (April 15) at 11am and Thursday (April 16) at 9am in the Chamber of the LegCo Complex.

     During the meeting, the Second Reading debate on the Appropriation Bill 2015 will resume and Members will speak on the Bill.

     On motions, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development will move a proposed resolution under section 34(2) of the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance to seek the Council's approval to amend the Competition (Turnover) Regulation, laid on the table of LegCo on February 25, 2015.

     Mr Andrew Leung will also move a proposed resolution under section 34(4) of the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance to seek the Council's approval to extend the period for amending the Merchant Shipping (Prevention and Control of Pollution) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulation 2015 and the Merchant Shipping (Control of Harmful Anti-Fouling Systems on Ships) Regulation, laid on the table of LegCo on March 25, 2015, to the meeting of May 13, 2015.

     During the meeting, Members will also ask the Administration 22 questions on various policy areas, all of which require written replies.

     The agenda of the above meeting can be obtained via the LegCo Website (www.legco.gov.hk).  Please note that the agenda is subject to change, and the latest information about the agenda could be found on the LegCo Website.

     Members of the public are welcome to observe the proceedings of the meeting from the public galleries of the Chamber of the LegCo Complex.  They may reserve seats by calling 3919 3399 during office hours.  Members of the public can also watch or listen the meeting via the "Webcast" system on the LegCo Website.
