The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Vice-Minister of the National Health and Family Planning Commission (NHFPC) and Commissioner of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SATCM), Mr Wang Guoqiang, at Government House this afternoon (April 11) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has been dedicated in promoting the development of Chinese medicine in Hong Kong and the internationalisation of Hong Kong's Chinese medicine industry. He also said that the public health departments in Hong Kong and the Mainland have been working closely and have maintained an effective and stable co-operation and notification system on disease control and prevention.
Mr Leung said he hoped that Hong Kong could continue to enhance exchanges and contacts with the NHFPC and the SATCM to refine the public health system and safeguard public health.
