The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Housing conducted a visit to Kwai Shing West Estate (KSWE) and Kwai Shing East Estate (KSEE) today (April 10) to better understand the addition of lifts in these estates.
Members first received a briefing on the Lift Addition Programme of public rental housing estates by representatives of the Housing Department and learnt about the latest progress of the lift installation in KSWE and KSEE. Members then observed a few lift towers in the two estates, including four completed and two under construction; and a proposed site for installation of stair lift in KSEE.
Members who participated in the visit included Chairman of the Panel, Ms Alice Mak, and Panel member, Mr Leung Yiu-chung, as well as Ms Chan Yuen-han, who is a non-Panel member.
