Vacancies in Tai Po District Council and Tuen Mun District Council

The Government declared by notice in the gazette today (April 10) the existence of two appointed seat vacancies in the Tai Po District Council and Tuen Mun District Council.
As Mr Cheung Hok-ming and Mr Lau Wong-fat have become ex-officio members of the Tai Po District Council and Tuen Mun District Council respectively by virtue of their holding office as the Chairmen of the Tai Po Rural Committee and the Tuen Mun Rural Committee, their offices as appointed members of the aforesaid district councils have become vacant pursuant to sections 10 and 16(1)(b) of the District Councils Ordinance (Cap. 547).
