Fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Chai Wan this afternoon (March 31) in which a 59-year-old man was killed.

     At about 3.18pm, a medium goods vehicle (MGV) driven by a 60-year-old man was travelling along Kut Shing Street towards Cheung Lee Street.¡@When approaching Cheung Lee Street, its container was reportedly hooked by the crane of another MGV which was parked on roadside and operated by a 43-year-old man. The MGV parked on roadside then moved forward and hit a 59-year-old man. The man was trapped between that MGV and another MGV parked on roadside.

     Sustaining serious head injuries, he was certified dead at scene.

      The 60-year-old and 43-year-old MGV drivers were arrested for dangerous driving causing death. They are now being detained pending further enquiries.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island, are underway.
