The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (March 30) that the Financial Secretary, on the advice of the Governance Sub-Committee of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, has approved the appointment of Ms Lillian Cheung as Executive Director (Research) with effect from April 1, 2015. Ms Cheung will also become the Director of the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research.
Ms Cheung holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Wollongong, Australia. Ms Cheung is currently the Division Head of the Economic Research Division of the HKMA, in charge of research relating to macroeconomic and financial stability issues. Ms Cheung first joined the HKMA as Manager in 1998 and was promoted to Division Head in 2010.
