Employer fined for violation of safety legislation

Knight Frank (Services) Limited was fined $18,000 at Eastern Magistrates' Courts today (March 27) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on August 30 last year at Peak Road. A building assistant stepped on and fell through a sheet metal false ceiling 4 metres above the ground and died subsequently.
