The Government announced today (March 27) the appointments to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Advisory Committee and the Mandatory Provident Fund Industry Schemes Committee (ISC).
The Chief Executive has re-appointed the Managing Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA), Mrs Diana Chan Tong Chee-ching, as the Deputy Chairman of the Advisory Committee for a term of two years from March 30, 2015, to March 29, 2017, both dates inclusive.
At the same time, the Financial Secretary has exercised the authority delegated by the Chief Executive and appointed Mr Lam Chun-sing as a member of the Advisory Committee and re-appointed eight incumbent members of the Advisory Committee for a term of two years from March 30, 2015, to March 29, 2017, both dates inclusive.
The Financial Secretary has also appointed Ms Monica Ng Chun-sing as a member of the ISC for a term of two years from February 23, 2015, to February 22, 2017, both dates inclusive.
The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, welcomed Mr Lam Chun-sing and Ms Monica Ng Chun-sing to be the new members of the Advisory Committee and the ISC respectively. He also paid tribute to Ms Ng Wai-yee and Mr Ivan Liu Sin-keung, the outgoing members of the Advisory Committee and ISC respectively, for their contributions in the past years.
The Advisory Committee is a statutory committee established under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (MPFSO) (Cap. 485). It advises the MPFA with respect to the operation of the MPFSO as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of the MPFA.
