Police arrested a 54-year-old woman in connection with a murder case in Kwun Tong in the small hours of today (March 26).
About 1am, Police received a report from a 25-year-old woman that her 65-year-old father collapsed in a unit in Kai Yan House, Kai Tin Estate.
Police officers sped to the scene and found the man lying unconsciously on the ground with head injuries. He was sent to United Christian Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 2.01am.
Initial investigations revealed that the deceased had a dispute over family matters with his 54-year-old wife earlier inside the unit and he was suspected to have been assaulted with a hard object.
Police arrested the 54-year-old woman for murder in Kwun Tong afterwards. She is being detained for further enquiries.
A post-mortem examination will be later conducted on the deceased to ascertain the cause of death.
Active investigations by the District Crime Squad of Kwun Tong District are underway.
