The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) today (March 25) announced appointments to the Steering Committee of the Pilot Green Transport Fund for a new two-year term starting from April 1, 2015.
The Steering Committee comprises members from academic institutions and transport trades as well as representatives from relevant government departments. It will continue to be chaired by Professor Timothy Tong Wai-cheung, President of Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, said, "I am deeply grateful for members' invaluable advice to the Government on the approval of funding support for testing green and innovative transport technologies. While bidding farewell to outgoing members, I look forward to the continued support of all members of the new term to help improve roadside air quality and reduce carbon emissions."

The Fund was set up in March 2011 to encourage the transport sector to test green and low-carbon transport technologies. The Steering Committee was set up to advise the Government on the approval of funding for relevant applications.
