The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, met the visiting Mayor of the Guangzhou Municipal Government, Mr Chen Jianhua, at the Chief Executive's Office this afternoon (March 24) to exchange views on issues of mutual concern.
Mr Leung said that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government would actively work with the Guangzhou Municipal Government to explore new modes of co-operation and maximise development opportunities for Hong Kong people and enterprises in the Guangdong Pilot Free Trade Zone. He also pointed out that Hong Kong and Guangzhou enjoy close economic and trade relationships and expressed the hope that the two places would continue to strengthen the relationships on all fronts for mutual benefit.
