The Legislative Council (LegCo) Panel on Security conducted a visit to the Fire Services Headquarters Building today (March 23) to better understand the work of the Fire Services Department.
Members first visited different types of fire services vehicles to learn more about their various functions. Members then visited the Fire Services Communications Centre and received a briefing on the operation of the Mobilizing and Communications Group by representatives of the Fire Services Department. Members also observed the demonstrations by console operators on handling different scenarios of fire or ambulance calls.
Members who participated in the visit included Mr Ip Kwok-him, Chairman of the Panel, Mr Ng Leung-sing, Deputy Chairman, Ms Emily Lau, Dr Lam Tai-fai, and Dr Elizabeth Quat who are Panel members, as well as Mr Gary Fan and Mr Ip Kin-yuen, who are non-Panel members.
