Fatal traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei

     Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yau Ma Tei yesterday (March 21) in which an 83-year-old man died.
 
     About 6.04pm, a public bus driven by a 33-year-old man was travelling along the north bound of Wylie Road. When turning left into Waterloo Road, it reportedly knocked down the 83-year-old man who was crossing the road.
 
     Sustaining serious injuries to his head, the man was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 7.02am this morning (March 22).
 
     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm right after the accident. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in late April.
 
     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West, are underway.
