Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sheung Shui yesterday (March 9), in which an 89-year-old woman was killed.
About 11.13am yesterday, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 53-year-old man was travelling along eastbound Sha Tau Kok Road – Lung Yeuk Tau. When approaching Kwan Tei North Village, it reportedly knocked down the 89-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
Sustaining serious head injuries, the 89-year-old woman was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 9.48pm on the same day.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic New Territories North are underway.
