Contractor fined for violation of safety legislation

Sunlight Electric Limited was fined $60,000 at Kowloon City Magistrates' Courts today (March 9) for violation of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance and the Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations. The prosecutions were launched by the Labour Department.
The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on July 17, 2014, in Kowloon Bay. An electrician fell to his death from a wooden folding ladder while he was conducting electrical wiring work.
