The Home Affairs Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Federal Chancellery of the Republic of Austria signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Cultural Co-operation today (March 9).
Representing the HKSAR Government, the Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Mrs Betty Fung, signed the MOU with the Director General of the Culture Division, Federal Chancellery of the Republic of Austria, Dr Michael Franz.
The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, and the Consul General of Austria to Hong Kong and Macao, Dr Claudia Reinprecht, also attended the signing ceremony.
The MOU reflects the joint efforts of Hong Kong and Austria in strengthening the cultural co-operation between the two places and provides a framework for promoting collaborative initiatives and exchanges in the fields of culture and the arts. Such co-operation will contribute to the furtherance of closer cultural ties and better understanding between the peoples of Austria and Hong Kong.
