Fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Sham Shui Po this morning (March 5) in which a 70-year-old man was killed.

     At about 9.30am, a light goods vehicle (LGV) driven by a 37-year-old man was travelling along westbound Pei Ho Street. When approaching Hai Tan Street, it reportedly knocked down the 70-year-old man who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining serious injuries to his head, the 70-year-old man was rushed to Princess Margaret Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 2.45pm.

     The LGV driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early May.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
