Transcript of remarks by CE at media session in Beijing (with photos/videos)
********************************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, at a media session in Beijing this afternoon (March 3):

Reporter: ... and whether the Government has any proposals in hand re the Individual Visit Scheme?

Chief Executive: We have been discussing with the Central Authorities and also, in that regard, the Guangdong and Shenzhen authorities the question of Mainland tourists coming to Hong Kong. So when we bring up this subject again on this trip it will not be the first time. It will be a continuation of our previous efforts, and as soon as we have anything to announce or to report through the media to the public, we shall.

Reporter: So, we're talking about the Mainland tourists issue, and you're going to be discussing this as a continuation. Do you think specifically you'll be talking about bringing down the number of Mainland visitors? You mentioned this previously. Is this something you're going to discuss with the leaders here?

Chief Executive: We haven't had the opportunity to discuss that question so far. The meetings that we have had today are mostly about Hong Kong's financial services sector, and also the 13th Five-Year Plan with the National Development and Reform Commission. As and when we discuss that subject with the Central Authorities, we shall answer press questions and also make known to the community through the media what has been discussed. OK? Thank you.
