Government appoints Antiquities Advisory Board member

     The Government today (March 3) announced that the Chief Executive has appointed Dr Sharon Wong Wai-yee as a member of the Antiquities Advisory Board (AAB) with effect from March 1, 2015, until December 31, 2016.

     The appointment was made under section 17(1) of the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance (Cap. 53) and will be published in the Gazette this Friday (March 6).

     The AAB is a statutory body established under the Antiquities and Monuments Ordinance (Cap. 53) to advise the Antiquities Authority on matters relating to antiquities and monuments. The AAB now comprises 23 members (including the Chairman), who are all appointed in their personal capacity.
