Festival of Russian Culture to showcase variety of Russian performing arts

     The Festival of Russian Culture in Hong Kong will be staged in April. Consisting of three programmes, the festival will showcase a variety of Russian performing arts including music, dance and puppetry. The festival is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, and the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Macau Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

     Details of the programmes are as follows:

"The Pipes of Victory" by the Horn Orchestra of Russia
A musical performance solely featuring horns - a unique cultural gem of Russia.
April 1 (Wednesday) 8pm
Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall
Tickets: $150, $180, $220

"An Unusual Concert" by the Sergey Obratsov Theatre (the Moscow State Puppet Theatre named after Sergey Obraztsov)
A truly unusual concert, with puppets morphing into eccentric artists and revelling in their antics.
April 7 to 9 (Tuesday to Thursday) 7.30pm

A Gala of Russian Dance by the Krasnoyarsk State Academic Dance Company of Siberia (founded by M Godenko)
The Company's repertoire boasts a long list of titles celebrating the history of Russian dance and music. The upcoming performance in Hong Kong will offer a treasure trove of the art of Russian dance.
April 11 and 12 (Saturday and Sunday) 8pm
