Post-office employment for Ms Fanny Ho Yin-fee
**********************************************

The Advisory Committee on Post-office Employment for Former Chief Executives and Politically Appointed Officials has advised the Government on the proposed self-employment of former Full-time Member of the Central Policy Unit, Ms Fanny Ho Yin-fee, after leaving the Government on November 15, 2014. Ms Ho has proposed to set up a home office to provide analysis to clients of financial, economic and industrial issues.

The Advisory Committee considers that, subject to observance of certain restrictions it has advised, the proposed self-employment of Ms Ho would not cause any potential conflict of interest. The Advisory Committee also does not anticipate adverse public reaction or public perception problems arising from the proposed self-employment. On the basis of the Committee's advice, the Government has approved the post-office work proposed by Ms Ho subject to those restrictions.

In considering each case, the Advisory Committee has regard to the information provided by the former official concerned under special appointment, the assessments by relevant government bureaux or offices, and the criteria for advice as stipulated in the guidance notes on post-office employment for officials under special appointment.

Details of the case above are available at the Advisory Committee's website (www.ceo.gov.hk/poo/eng/index.htm).

The membership of the Advisory Committee is as follows:

Dr Moses Cheng Mo-chi (Chairman)
Mr Tim Lui Tim-leung
Professor Liu Pak-wai
Ms Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah
Ms Elaine Lo Yuen-man
