The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:
The Legislative Council (LegCo) will hold a meeting on Wednesday (February 25) at 11am in the Chamber of the LegCo Complex. The Administration has advised the Clerk to LegCo that the Financial Secretary intends to present the Appropriation Bill 2015 and the Estimates of Expenditure for the year ending March 31, 2016 to the Council. When moving the Second Reading of the Appropriation Bill 2015, the Financial Secretary will outline the 2015-2016 Government Budget.
On Members' Motions, five Members will move separately the following six proposed resolutions under section 34(4) of the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance:
Mr Chan Kam-lam will move a proposed resolution to seek the Council's approval to extend the period for amending the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Financial Institutions) Ordinance (Amendment of Schedule 2) Notice 2015, laid on the table of LegCo on January 28, 2015, to the meeting of March 18, 2015.
Mr Tommy Cheung will move a proposed resolution to seek the Council's approval to extend the period for amending the Dutiable Commodities (Liquor) (Amendment) Regulation 2015 and the Dutiable Commodities (Liquor Licences) (Fees) (Amendment) Regulation 2015, laid on the table of LegCo on February 4, 2015, to the meeting of March 25, 2015.
Mr Charles Peter Mok will move a proposed resolution to seek the Council's approval to extend the period for amending the Registration of Copyright Licensing Bodies (Amendment) Regulation 2015, the Trade Marks (Amendment) Rules 2015 and the Registered Designs (Amendment) Rules 2015, laid on the table of LegCo on February 4, 2015, to the meeting of March 25, 2015.
Mr Ip Kwok-him will move a proposed resolution to seek the Council's approval to extend the period for amending the Port Control (Public Cargo Working Area) Order 2015, laid on the table of LegCo on February 4, 2015, to the meeting of March 25, 2015.
Mr Andrew Leung will move two separate proposed resolutions to seek the Council's approval to extend the period for amending the Allowances to Jurors (Amendment) Order 2015 and the Pharmacy and Poisons (Amendment) Ordinance 2015 (Commencement) Notice, laid on the table of LegCo on February 11, 2015, to the meeting of April 15, 2015.
During the meeting, Members will also ask the Administration 22 questions on various policy areas, all of which require written replies.
