Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tsing Yi this afternoon (February 19) in which a 53-year-old man died.
About 5pm, a taxi driven by a 53-year-old man and a private car driven by a 36-year-old man were travelling along Lantau Link towards Kowloon. When approaching near Ma Wan, the taxi reportedly lost control and rammed into the barriers on the left. It then collided with the private car and bounced back to the roadside barriers again.
The taxi driver was sent to Yan Chai Hospital in unconscious state where he was certified dead at 5.53pm.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South, are underway.
