Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City this evening (February 13) in which a 77-year-old woman was killed.
At about 7.30pm, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 56-year-old man was travelling along southbound Sa Po road. On reaching near Carpenter Road, the PLB reportedly knocked down the 77-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman sustained serious head injury and was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 8pm.
The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He is now being detained.
The case will be handed over to the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West.
