Musical production "Beyond Paradise" by Actors' Family depicts journey of redemption
*******************************************************

The musical "Beyond Paradise", presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) and produced by Actors' Family, will be staged in April. The story depicts a man's inner conflict and a journey of redemption from sin to forgiveness.

The plot sees a mother surprise the world by saying that she has forgiven the man who, in an unreported case, sexually assaulted her eight years earlier. The reason is simple: her daughter has an incurable disease and she needs her biological father to save her. He is the daughter's only chance of survival, but he needs to come forward. Scarred physically and psychologically, the mother is forced to unravel a dreaded past. Meanwhile, with a happy family and a bright future awaiting him, the man hides in the dark, wrestling with his conscience and seeking much-needed courage.

The musical was adapted by playwright Szeto Wai-kin from a real-life story that circulated on the Internet and is directed by Henry Fong. Chung Chi-wing is the composer and lyricist. The actors will include Jordan Cheng, Jarita Wan, Gregory Charles Rivers, Margaret Cheung, German Cheung, Jenus Ho, Ray Kwok and Starry Mark.

The musical "Beyond Paradise" by Actors' Family (to be performed in Cantonese) will be staged at 8pm on April 17 and 18 (Friday and Saturday) and at 3pm on April 18 and 19 (Saturday and Sunday) at the Theatre of Hong Kong City Hall.
