Police will implement special traffic arrangements to facilitate the holding of a marathon event in Kowloon East this Sunday (February 8).
Phase I (from 1am to 1.30pm)
A. Road closure
- Eastbound Kwun Tong Bypass between its ramp leading to westbound Prince Edward Road East and its ramp leaving from eastbound Wai Fat Road;
- The ramp of eastbound Prince Edward Road East leading to eastbound Kwun Tong Bypass;
- The ramp of eastbound Prince Edward Road East leading to westbound Kwun Tong Bypass;
- The ramp of eastbound Kai Fuk Road leading to eastbound Kwun Tong Bypass; and
- The ramp of southbound Wang Chiu Road leading to eastbound Kwun Tong Bypass.
B. Traffic diversion
- Vehicles from eastbound Kwun Tong Bypass heading to Tseung Kwan O Road or Lei Yue Mun Road will be diverted to eastbound Prince Edward Road East and eastbound Kwun Tong Road;
- Vehicles from eastbound Prince Edward Road East heading to eastbound Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted to eastbound Kwun Tong Road;
- Vehicles from eastbound Prince Edward Road East heading to Tate¡¦s Cairn Tunnel will be diverted via westbound Lung Cheung Road and the ramp of Hammer Hill Road leading to Tate¡¦s Cairn Tunnel;
- Vehicles from eastbound Kai Fuk Road heading to eastbound Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted via eastbound Kai Fuk Road, flyover and eastbound Kwun Tong Road; and
- Vehicles from southbound Wang Chiu Road heading to eastbound Kwun Tong Bypass will be diverted via eastbound Sheung Yee Road, flyover, eastbound Ngau Tau Kok Road, southbound Elegance Road and eastbound Kwun Tong Road.
Phase II ¡V Part A (from 6.30am to 12.30pm)
A. Road closure
- The unnamed road leading to Kai Tak Runway Park;
- Cheung Yip Street car park;
- Cheung Yip Street between Sheung Yee Road and Hoi Bun Road;
- Hung Yip Street;
- Eastbound Hoi Bun Road between Cheung Yip Street and Shun Yip Street;
- Westbound Hoi Bun Road between Kai Hing Road and Shun Yip Street;
- Tsui Hing Street;
- Eastbound Sheung Yee Road at grade between Wang Hoi Road and Wai Yip Street;
-Westbound Sheung Yee Road at grade between Wang Chiu Road and Wai Yip Street;
-Southbound Wang Hoi Road between Wang Yuen Street and Sheung Yee Road;
-Sheung Yuet Road between Wai Yip Street and Wang Hoi Road; and
- Siu Yip Street between Wai Yip Street and Tai Yip Street.
B. Traffic Diversion
- Lam Chak Street will be converted to one-way eastbound;
- Kai Hing Road will be converted to one-way northbound;
- Traffic along northbound Cheung Yip Street cannot turn right to Hoi Bun Road;
- Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road and westbound Hoi Bun Road cannot turn to northbound Cheung Yip Street;
- Traffic along southbound Wai Yip Street cannot turn left to eastbound Siu Yip Street;
- Traffic along Tai Yip Street cannot turn to westbound Siu Yip Street;
- Traffic along northbound Wai Yip Street cannot turn left to Sheung Yee Road and Sheung Yuet Road;
- Traffic along southbound Wang Hoi Road cannot turn left to Sheung Yuet Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Wang Yuen Street cannot turn right to Wang Hoi Road;
- Traffic along westbound Sheung Yee Street cannot turn left to southbound Wang Chiu Road;
- Traffic along southbound Wang Chiu Road will be diverted to southbound Cheung Yip Street, eastbound Lam Chak Street and northbound Kai Hing Road;
- Traffic along northbound Cheung Yip Street will be diverted to northbound Wang Chiu Road;
- Traffic along westbound Hoi Bun Road will be diverted to Shun Yip Street, northbound Wai Yip Street, westbound Kai Cheung Road and southbound Wang Chiu Road;
- Traffic along southbound Wai Yip Street heading to Siu Yip Street will be diverted via northbound Tai Yip Street;
- Traffic along northbound Wai Yip Street heading to Kowloon Bay Business Area will be diverted via westbound Kai Cheung Road and southbound Wang Chiu Road;
- Traffic along eastbound Sheung Yee Road at grade and eastbound Sheung Yuet Road heading to Choi Hung Interchange and Telford Gardens will be diverted via northbound Wang Chiu Road and eastbound Kai Cheung Road;
- Traffic from southbound Wang Hoi Road heading to Choi Hung Interchange will be diverted via westbound Wang Yuen Street, southbound Wang Mau Street, eastbound Sheung Yee Road, northbound Wang Hoi Road, westbound Lam Hing Street, northbound Wang Kwong Road, eastbound Kai Cheung Road and flyover; and
- Traffic along westbound Sheung Yee Road heading to southbound Wang Chiu Road will be diverted via northbound Wang Chiu Road, westbound Lam Fung Street, southbound Sheung Yee Road and eastbound Sheung Yee Road.
Phase II ¡V Part B (from 6am to 10.30am)
A. Road closure
- Hoi Bun Road between Shun Yip Street and Tsun Yip Street;
- Shun Yip Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street;
- Lai Yip Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street; and
- How Ming Street between Hoi Bun Road and Wai Yip Street.
B. Traffic diversion
- Traffic along northbound Wai Yip Street cannot turn left to westbound How Ming Street and westbound Lai Yip Street; and
- Traffic along westbound Lai Yip Street heading to Kowloon Bay will be diverted to northbound Wai Yip Street.
Phase III (from 7am to 9.30am)
A. Road closure (except for franchised buses and authorised vehicles)
- Shing Fung Road;
- The unnamed road connecting Shing Fung Road and Shing Cheong Road;
- Shing Cheong Road; and
- Cheung Yip Street between Lam Chak Street and Shing Cheong Road.
Goods vehicle parking spaces at Lam Chak Street and Hoi Bun Road, metered parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces at Cheung Yip Street, and metered parking spaces and disabled parking space on Hoi Bun Road will be suspended from 8pm on February 7 to 1pm the following day.
Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the above areas will be towed away without prior notice.
Actual implementation of the traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic and crowd conditions in the area. Motorists are advised to drive with care and patience and follow the instruction of the Police at scene.
