FEHD cancels licence of restaurant in Tuen Mun
**********************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene today (February 6) cancelled the licence of a restaurant in Tuen Mun, as the licensee repeatedly breached the Food Business Regulation (FBR) by illegally extending the business area.

The premises are located at shop 10 on the ground floor of Sun Court at 1 to 43 Yan Oi Tong Circuit.

"Between October last year and January this year, 19 convictions for the breach were recorded against the food establishment and a total fine of $82,500 was levied by the court. The contraventions resulted in the cancellation of the licence in accordance with the department's demerit points system," a spokesman for the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) said.

The spokesman reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the FBR, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.

Licensed food premises are required to exhibit a sign, at a conspicuous place near the main entrance, indicating that the premises have been licensed. A list of licensed food premises is available on the FEHD's website (www.fehd.gov.hk/english/licensing/index.html).
