Police work showcased at Careers Expo (with photos)

     The Police showcased the multi-faceted and professional nature of their work under the theme "Serve and Protect our Hong Kong, Join Us" at the four-day Education and Careers Expo 2015 starting today (February 5). The latest recruitment information is also available at the booth.

     Officers from Force Search Unit, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Bureau, Crime Prevention Bureau and Force Abseiling Cadre briefed visitors on their areas of work and introduced their equipment at different sessions held today. Police Dog Unit also demonstrated different search techniques during a stage performance.

     Demonstration sessions of other Police units are as follows:

February 6 (Friday):
10am to 2.30pm ¡V Counter Terrorism Response Unit / Identification Bureau
2.30pm to 7pm ¡V Traffic / Marine

February 7 (Saturday):
10am to 2.30pm ¡V Police College
2.30pm to 7pm ¡V Police Dog Unit / Police Negotiation Cadre
*Police Recruitment Division will conduct an on-stage recruitment talk between 12.35pm and 1.05pm

February 8 (Sunday):
10am to 2.30pm ¡V Airport Security Unit
2.30pm to 6pm ¡V Emergency Unit / Narcotics Bureau

     During the expo, officers from the Police Recruitment Division and Auxiliary Police will handle related enquiries and applications for on site, including conducting initial screening and arranging the written test (Inspector applicants) or physical fitness test (Constable applicants).

     Members of the public are welcome to visit the Police booth at the expo held in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 10.30am to 7pm on February 5, 10am to 7pm on February 6 and 7, and from 10am to 6pm on February 8. Admission is free.

     To tie in with the expo, the Police simultaneously hold a ¡§Recruitment Express¡¨ campaign. Those who wish to join the Force can apply in person at 13/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters, 1 Arsenal Street, Wan Chai on or before February 28 from 10 am to 5 pm daily (except Sundays and public holidays). They are reminded to bring along proof of their academic qualifications (original and duplicate).

     For the financial year 2015-16, the Force's recruitment target is some 1 500, comprising about 190 Probationary Inspectors and 1 320 Recruit Police Constables. The recruitment target of Auxiliary Recruit Police Constables is 320.
