The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, will tomorrow (February 5) lead a delegation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government to Guangzhou, where he will co-chair the first meeting of the Hong Kong-Guangdong Joint Working Group on Cleaner Production (JWGCP) with the Director-General of the Economic and Information Commission of Guangdong Province, Mr Lai Tiansheng. Mr Wong will also officiate at the presentation ceremony of the Hong Kong-Guangdong Cleaner Production Partners Recognition Scheme.
The delegation will comprise representatives from the Environment Bureau, the Environmental Protection Department, the Trade and Industry Department, the Innovation and Technology Commission and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong.
At the meeting, both sides will endorse the terms of reference and modus operandi of the JWGCP, and discuss a work plan on the promotion of cleaner production for 2015.
Mr Wong will return to Hong Kong after the meeting tomorrow evening.
